Last year there were so many similarities the picks from each of the top paint companies (two I could barely tell apart!). This year there is a fabulous range of colors, but you can certainly see the trend influences. Choosing paint colors like a pro is easy with some of the top choices:
Sherwin-Williams: Redend Point
This earthy blend of blush and beige is so warm and inviting! I think this would be fabulous for an entry or bedroom. PRO TIP: These blended colors can really change with the light, so make sure you test a large swatch in your room before you commit.
Krylon: Spanish Moss
I love this stunning dark green! It has a hint of olive to keep it modern, making it perfect for today’s push towards energetic vintage styles. PRO TIP: Dark greens are stunning with metallics; try pairing it with bright copper, mellow brass and deep golds.
Benjamin Moore: Raspberry Blush
Finally – a bright color! This vibrant, coral-tone is bright and cheery, yet has a moody soul in keeping with the naturalistic trends of today.PRO TIP: Raspberry Blush is a super saturated statement color – adding loads of neutrally colored, heavily textured furniture and textiles will keep it from being overpowering.
Behr: Blank Canvas
I love having a nice soft white in my arsenal, and this one is perfect. It has a lovely ivory base, making it pair with virtually anything. When designers say “go white!”, this is what they are looking for! PRO TIP: Much like fine chefs always using white plates, a soft white base allows you to go any color direction with your decor. It showcases any style!
HGTV by Sherwin-Williams: Darkroom
I think I’m officially in love. Many of you know my enduring devotion to using black in decor (I’m still trying to get my never-try-anything-new husband to let me paint a living room wall black!), and this is THE black to try. It’s almost a soft charcoal, making it stunning for an accent wall, kitchen cabinetry, or (gasp!) small rooms. PRO TIP: If you need some inspo, the designer who has really nailed the use of black in decor is Valentina (houseofvalentina.com). She’s a long-time favorite of mine!
Glidden: Vining Ivy
This stunning blend of green and blue makes the perfect teal pop! It’s very on-trend for the boho style trend, but it has a lot of vintage roots that will stand the test of time. It’s bright but soothing! PRO TIP: This teal shade is stunning paired with natural elements like wood, wicker and rattan.
So there you have it – a few of the top picks to help with choosing paint colors for 2023. Which is your favorite?
