Pantone unveiled their Color of the Year for 2024: Peach Fuzz!  I admit, working this color into home décor may require a bit of creativity.  But now that I’ve lived with the idea for a bit, I think it’s a great way to bring in some warmth, sophistication, and maybe even touch of playfulness. It’s and soft and inviting hue, and it’s really quite versatile!  Here are a few tips:

Tip #1: Make a Statement When working with a color like Peach Fuzz, it’s easy to reduce it to supporting actor.  Be bold!  Even if you can’t upgrade your living room or bedroom by introducing a statement piece of furniture (although a plush sofa or accent chair would be beautiful!), go for maximum impact with a cozy bedspread or large art piece.  You’ll instantly transform the space and create a focal point that exudes elegance and comfort. PRO TIP: You can balance the statement with neutral tones like whites, creams, or soft grays for a balanced and soothing look.

Tip #2: Accent Walls If an entire Peach Fuzz room makes your eye twitch, go for a trendy option by painting just one wall! This subtle yet impactful choice can enhance the overall aesthetic without overwhelming the space. Consider adding an accent wall in unexpected places like bedrooms or bathrooms for a whimsical tone.  PRO TIP: Carry the color from the accent wall into your décor through carefully chosen art pieces and small decor accents like vases, candles, or sculptures.  These accents can add a touch of sophistication and visual interest to any room while making your accent wall fit seamlessly.

BONUS TIP: Whenever a trendy color is a bit much for you (and I do think Peach Fuzz will be polarizing!) look for ways bring the color into your own style.  It plays beautifully into vintage, boho, traditional, and even modern décor.  If you look around, you may have a few options already within your textiles or art!
