Petite powder rooms and tiny bathrooms offer an amazing bang for the buck, so it’s a great place to start for the year. Here are a few tips:
Tip 1: Keep it Functional
romantic bathroom decor doesn’t have the space for extra décor pieces that exist simply for looks. In order to bring in a fresh look, pare down to only the necessary pieces and make sure each one is both functional and attractive. Baskets are a great option, offering storage and style; and they can be used for toilet paper, towels, and anything else you can need. PRO TIP: One of the best ways to maximize space is to change out towel rods for towel hooks. It’s a simple change that makes instant wall space!
Tip 2: Focus on Organization
Nothing feels smaller than a petite room that is cluttered. Spring clean in the areas you don’t normally see, whittling down anything unnecessary, then work on creating functional systems for what is left. A great way to maximize under-counter space is removing cleaning products; just place them in a bucket and bring them in when you clean. PRO TIP: Under the sink is often a treasure trove of space…but only if you utilize it. I’m a huge fan of stacking drawers – you can get a ton of stuff in them – and using the back of the doors for narrow storage.
Tip 3: Think Neutrals
Neutrals are great in small bathrooms because they allow you to make simple changes over time to get a fresh look. I recently swapped the reds in my romantic bathroom decor for greens with fresh linens – what a difference! And remember – neutral doesn’t mean boring. Black can be just as versatile as cream, with twice the drama. PRO TIP: A great way to really change up the space is painting the ceiling. In a small bathroom, it isn’t a huge task, but it has a ton of impact!
BONUS TIP: Want to really put your small refresh over the top? Change out the mirror! Introducing a new mirror (or even just framing the one already there) can completely alter the look and feel of the whole space. Give it a try and see what you think!
